2011 - 2012 Playlists

Music is an important part of a Charlotte Mason education but one that is easy to leave out!  So I am attempting to make Grooveshark Playlists for all the different areas.  Several people have told me they wish to include this in their homeschool but just don't have time to put it together.  So feel free to borrow mine!

If you would like some more information about how to use these you can go here and see Ambleside Online's recommendations.  Also for the hymns, some I am unable to find on Grooveshark so if it isn't on the playlist, or you don't like the version I chose, click on the hymn name and it will take you to midi version.

I am printing the words and some of the music to follow along.  8note.com has a lot.

We will be listening to the Mozart selections during lunch usually.  I plan on concentrating on one for 2 weeks so we can really learn the name with the piece.  Of course the Requiem is pretty long but it is the only vocal one.  I will also try and find a good living book about Mozart so we have some background.

Composer Term 1 - Mozart
Serenade No. 13 for strings in G major (K525) ("Eine Kleine Nacht Musik")
Requiem Mass in D minor (K626) (A vocal work)
Symphony no. 41 in C major (K551) ("Jupiter)"
Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra in E-flat major (K364)
Piano Concerto no. 21 in C major (K467)

We will sing the hymn twice a week as a part of our school for the month.
Monthly Hymns

September: He Leadeth Me
October: Dear Lord and Father of Mankind
November: He Hideth My Soul

March: Redeemed, How I Love To Proclaim It

These are pretty entertaining.   "A Man's a Man for A' That" has some vocab that is strange - 8note.com luckily puts a glossary at the bottom of this one.  Look on YouTube for some interesting videos that include the instruments!
