Brotherly love

I love how much the boys love each other. Caleb can't stand for Carter to be asleep if he is awake. We have to take him downstairs to our room if he wakes up from his nap before Carter - otherwise he screams bloody murder and throws himself at Carter's door. He also loves to pick up Carter's cup and give it to him. Of course Carter has loved Caleb from the moment he laid eyes on him in the hospital. He wants Caleb to play with him all the time. He is even starting to offer Caleb snacks first and give him toys he thinks he would like to play with. While they don't always share, something that they love to do together - flush the toilet. Of course Caleb is right there with us on every potty trip and he puts his hand on the toilet handle, Carter puts his hand on top of Caleb's and they flush together. Of all the things to share!!

Tonight I was singing to Caleb as I was putting him to bed and after I was done he lifted up his head and starting saying "Dar dar" (Carter) and pointing at the door. I realized I had forgotten to let him kiss Carter goodnight. I set him down on the floor and he ran into the loft where Carter was and gave him a big kiss then ran back to me. Not a dry eye to be found!! That had to be the sweetest thing I have ever seen!

In the past few days I have started saying prayers with Caleb before bedtime (I don't know why I haven't done this earlier). Last night I forgot and just started singing our night night song. Caleb lifted his head up from my shoulder and started saying "Da da", "Dar dar" and doing the sign for more and please. It took me a minute but I realized he was telling me to say prayers (part of prayers are to thank God for Daddy and Carter - Mommy too but oh well). I started praying and he grinned at me and laid his head back on my shoulder. This afternoon he did the same thing for nap - so we said prayers at nap and night today - can't hurt to pray a little more!
