Freeze
Today wasn't an especially difficult day. Caleb and I are playing the game of "When will Caleb nap?" and right now I am losing - but other than a fussy little boy and trying to get the Christmas things put away - it wasn't that bad. However, this evening I was tired. I am getting up at 6:30 to exercise and shower before getting the boys up and I have stood up all day long - cooking, putting away Christmas, doing laundry. So after dinner the boys and I went upstairs and they started playing while I sat down on the couch. Of course I immediately started to doze off - the reason why I don't let myself sit down during the day much! Carter asked me what was wrong and I said nothing, I was just tired. He asked if I was going to go to sleep so I started snoring. Little did I know what I started. Caleb thought this was hilarious - Mommy making these funny noises - so he got up on the couch and was laughing at me. He then decided that I needed a big, wet, slobbery kiss. Of course my eyes were shut and I did not see this coming so when I got "hit" I "snored" really loudly. He started his cute belly-laugh-can't breathe laughing. That got Carter in. So for 20 minutes - until my throat was raw from "snoring", we sat on the couch and I snored and they kissed me and laughed themselves silly. Oh time freeze for a just a moment - let me remember this when I am frustrated and angry and impatient. Soon the time will come when Mommy will not be funny and kissing Mommy will be gross!
