Never ending fun

So I wasn't going to post anything tonight as I have so much left to do and wanted to get to bed early tonight - that isn't going to happen. I will post pics tomorrow of our sledding adventures. We are currently stuck in our house as the driveway is just plain icy - Sam tried to get the van out and it started sliding backwards. It is a sheet of ice at the top, a sheet of ice at the bottom and icy snow in between. This is not great for cars but great for little boys and a piece of cardboard. We had a blast!!

Anyway - our day.

I should have known better than to put an outfit on Caleb that he had thrown up on a few days ago. But it was just out of the dryer and would be one less thing for me to fold and put away. It should have told me that the day was going to be "vomity".

Then I was arguing with Carter about getting dressed as he thought it more important to play trains. He finally looked at me and said, "This is just undignified!!"

All day Caleb is not eating and just playing with his food - frustrating but I'm trying to understand that his tummy is still recovering. But all I ask for is 1 bite for heaven's sake!!!

Dinner - waffles. Caleb has eaten 4 bites - Carter 3 waffles. Caleb starts saying his tushy hurts - he needs to go poopy as he hasn't gone today. So, I give him a couple of prunes and go start their bath. He LOVES prunes and usually eats them right up. He didn't. I insist. He puts it in his mouth. Gags. Throws up all over the place. Lunch from yesterday was in there - literally. I start trying to clean him up. He starts crying and throws up even more. So I strip him down and go put them in the bath that is almost overflowing as it had been running this whole time. Go start to clean up the vomit and then go back to check on them. Caleb starts fussing and saying his tummy hurts.

Carter flips out and starts screaming, "Get him out Mommy! Get him out!!"

Right then I see the cloud appear under the water. Carter screams, "Let me out!" I pick him up and put him in the shower then do the same with Caleb. Then I get to stick my hand in the full tub that is now a little fuller and push the button to let out the water. Get the boys showered in lukewarm water as the tub had used almost all the hot water. Getting the boys in their pjs Carter and I once again argue about him concentrating on getting dressed.

He looks at me and says, "Mom, are you freaking out on me?"

I just bust out laughing. After the evening I had, God sent me a little humor.
