Last week we went to SC to shoot a wedding and visit with Sam's sister who lives in Phoenix. She and her kids come every summer for a month or so to get reaquainted with her Southern roots :) i.e. boiled peanuts, Leo's wings, fireworks, humidity and mosquitoes.
Part of our trip was a very very short visit to Myrtle Beach. We went down Sunday morning and came back to Camden Monday night, then home on Tuesday. Funny how close the beach is to our hometown. That's what living in the big city does - it makes trips that used to seem long really short. We both commented on why we didn't do more day trips to the beach when we were younger as it is only a 2 hour drive!
Anyway, Sam's sister had rented a 2 bedroom condo for the week and invited us to come for a few days. We thought one night in a two bedroom condo with 3 adults, 2 teenagers and 4 kids aged 7 and under was enough. We got to hit the beach and pool Sunday afternoon along with a seafood buffet that night followed by a walk down the Garden City Pier. Then Monday was beach, pool, lunch, beach, pool, shower and drive back to my Grandma's. Perfect.
Here are a few pictures from the trip. Enjoy!!
Know the website People of Walmart that shows pictures of real people that visit Walmart looking rednecky? There should be a People of Myrtle Beach site and this picture would be perfect.
Monster Golf Cart.
Cousins
She's got spunk and sass and gorgeous curls!
Watch out ladies - curls, brown eyes and freckles - dangerous.
Shark fishing is not allowed on the pier. Somebody forgot to tell this little guy. He got caught 3 times in a row. I guess he was really hungry and a little dumb.
I have no idea what he was trying to think of.
Such a typical Carter expression
When we were here 3 years ago we didn't get around to eating here and we didn't eat here this time either. Sam's sister and the kids went the night we left and said it was good! Next time we will go and I will get a picture of Sam eating at Sam's Corner.
What a great shot!
Caleb didn't really like the ocean so much. He was cold. Yes, cold. He's always cold.
It was very far from being cold.
He loved the pool however and quickly decided he loved jumping in, person to catch him or even see him jump in - optional.
Once in the pool this is what he would do.
Float like a dead person. No arms or kicking, just float to the top and not come up for a breath until someone grabbed him.
Very hilarious and yet also pretty disconcerting at the same time.
Did I mention he loved jumping in?
Last one, I promise, he's just so cute.
