My cute boys

These are some pictures from the past few days. We've been trying to get outside every day and enjoy this beautiful weather. It won't be long before it will be too hot to be out much! Here are some recent Carter conversations.

Carter got up in his chair for dinner and I sat his dinner (peas and leftover lasagna) in front of him.
Carter, "Mommy, those are peas?"
Mommy, "Yes honey they are peas."
Carter takes a bite of peas, "Oh Mommy, these are really good peas!"

Carter saw an episode of "Bob the Builder" several weeks ago that has really stuck with him. All of a sudden during dinner, for no reason he started talking about it.
Carter, "Where Rolly go Mommy?" (Rolly is the roller vehicle on Bob - the vehicles talk)
Mommy, "I don't know, where did he go?"
Carter, "Oh no, he sleep rolling! (The episode is indeed about Rolly "sleep rolling".) He got away from Bob. He got out of the yard. Wendy go find him. Rolly, Rolly, where are you? Oh, there he is! They found him. He okay now. He wake up."

Later in dinner I went upstairs to get Caleb up as he was taking a late nap.
Carter, "Mommy! Mommy! MOMMY!"
Mommy, coming down the stairs, "What's wrong Carter?"
Carter, "I missed you!"

A poem given to me by Charlotte Glass at a baby shower for Carter.

One day, in a few years,
there will be a knock on your door
and when you open it,
a little boy,
with a smiling, upturned face
and dirty hands,
and a bunch of flowers
from your garden
will be standing in front of you.
And with pride and love
in his voice, he will say,
"Here, Mommy, I picked these for you."

My first flower from Carter.

Of course I have to say he told me he was going to pick blueberries and brought me back this flower and said, "Here Mommy, it's a blueberry for you. It's pink!" Still, my heart melted! The rest of the time we were outside he kept asking me if I had my flower. I told him I would keep it always. When we came in he again asked if I had my flower and when we got back this evening from running some errands he went over to where I had put it and asked, "You still got your flower Mommy?"

"Always honey - I will keep it forever."
