Elvis and the Chicken

Halloween is so fun - but so exhausting!!   We had pizza with the Torberts and the Carlsons so the kids were nice and wound up to begin with.  Then I had to do Caleb's "do" which he did not enjoy!!  Finally we were ready!  Originally Carter was going to be Bob the Builder but Angie had the Old Navy Chicken costume which I have always loved - so he decided he wanted to be a chicken.  I finished Caleb's costume in the morning with some more glitter glue "rhinestones".  I got the pants at a thrift store and the shirt at a consignment store and sewed some gold lame in the pants to make bell bottoms and made a cape.  I used eyeliner to make his sideburns.  We met back up with the Torberts and Carlsons - Jackson "Elmo" and Ellie "Eeyore".  Ellie and Carter really got trick or treating this year.  They were at the door, knocking and ringing the door multiple times and on cue said "trick or treat".  We had to watch Carter as many people just held out the bowl and he would help himself with handfuls of candy.  Then as soon as we left one house he was asking if we could go to another Halloween house.  After rounding the entire neighborhood (boy am I glad we only have 48 houses) we put the kids to bed and met back at the Torbert's for some MarioKart and my spiked apple cider - yum yum yum.  Sometimes it's fun to drink and drive!!
