A lazy Sunday around the Napper house today. Church, 2 1/2 hour nap for the boys, our usual Mexican restaurant for dinner, playing cars and bed. A nice day! Carter went into the 3's and 4's class today at church. Even though he turned 3 months ago, I have been waiting to move him up until I thought he might be able to handle a little more structure. My friend Lisa was in there - she has 4 kids with #5 on the way - 4 of them will be boys . When I went to pick him up she said he was normal. That didn't reassure me! She said he was just like the other 3 year old boys. They would tell him to sit down and he would for a minute or two. Maybe by the time he is 4 he will be able to sit and listen for longer than a minute or two!
I will say I could do without Caleb's temper. The past few days he has been really acting out. If I don't give him what he wants at meal time he throws his cup on the floor and starts angrily sweeping his arm across his tray knocking everything on the floor. Oh, and yelling the entire time. If he wants up on the couch he will just stand there and shriek. If I stop what I'm doing and ask him what he wants he will do his sign for please (which is not the real sign for please but the one we finally figured out that he has created that means please). He gets mad if Carter is playing with something he wants and will start shrieking and throwing toys. I am going to have to get a game plan for him quick. When I discipline him by either telling him no or popping his hand he either laughs at me or starts crying his heart out with big tears and tries to put his arms around my neck and bury his face in my chest. The former is very maddening and the later makes my heart turn into a big puddle. I have to pick him up and hold him - exactly what he wants me to do. My little charming manipulator!!!
