Thoughts from me

Okay - something a little different today.  I am feeling the need to verbalize!  Why does the media feel the need to make people who believe in something a little different seem like freaks?  I was watching a program about a family with 17 kids(with #18 on the way) and they are a conservative Christian family.  While I don't go along with everything they believe I respect the way they are raising their children to believe in their values, to respect each other and to stand up for their beliefs.  They went to a creation science museum and talked about their belief intelligent design and that God created our world about 6000 years ago in 6 days - something I too believe.  While not showing the details of the displays which explain the science behind the creationist belief, they asked the kids if they thought their parents were sheltering them and keeping information from them.  They then asked several other people - the crew I think - if they believed the earth was 6000 years old and several other things that they talked about in the museum.  The crew scoffed that it was common sense that the world was millions of years old and that there was all kinds of scientific proof of evolution.  Why did they have to do that?  Why couldn't they let this family present their belief and let the viewers decide for themselves?  Why did they have to interject their secular, patronizing attitude?  I do not want my children to be exposed to the liberal, "ultra intelligent" view point that Christians are less intelligent and gullible and narrow minded.  More and more I feel compelled to make sure my children know the truth - the truth stated in the Bible and the truths that God has made known to us.  He has not given us all the answers - that is where we have to have faith.  I don't have all the answers to science and evolution theories - but I do believe that is exactly what they are - just theories.  Don't tell me I am narrow minded and dumb because I choose to teach my children that God created this beautiful, complex earth.  Ok, enough of my soapbox!
