Home again, home again.
We're home from Thanksgiving at Grandma's. The boys and I went to Grandma's on Wednesday - the normal 3.5 hour trip took 5.5 hours. Stopped for lunch where everybody else in the world stopped. Went to the "least" crowded place - Burger King - stood in line for 15 minutes (real fun while holding a 16 month old and keeping a 3 year old by my side). Then go get a table while wait for our food to be ready. In a fast food restaurant, shouldn't there be a rule that there be more than 2 highchairs? So there I am trying to keep Carter and Caleb sitting at a table, playing with cars and listening for our order to be up. Finally, our food is ready at the same time a high chair is vacated. I grab the chair and our food, put Caleb in, give him some fries before he grabs the whole tray. Pour milk in sippy cups, start cutting up cheeseburgers and of course - "Mommy, I need to go tinkle!" Oh for the love of ... So, I leave our food at the table, sippy cups visible so no one throws away our food. Take both boys into the tiny cubicle, help Carter "tinkle", keep Caleb from touching things, wash their hands, back to the table, eat, play outside for 15 minutes, back to the car. That only took an hour and a half!!! Then of course we ran into traffic. Thank goodness for in car DVD players!!! Anyway, wonderful get together with the family. We got the dumpster filled with stuff out of Papa's shop and made some progress in starting to clean out things for Grandma and Papa. The boys loved playing with my young cousins, Perry and John. They were great babysitters! I'll get some pictures posted tomorrow hopefully! I am so thankful for my close-knit family. I am so thankful for Sam and my beautiful boys. I am so thankful for a God who loves me and has a plan for my life.
