Growing Pains
We are going through some growing pains around here. Sleeping growing pains to be precise. It seems like every night this week one of the boys has had sleeping issues. This has always been an issue in this household as many of you know. I say that the "Napper" name is a curse and my boys do not nap or sleep well. I also think kids seem to be either good sleepers or good eaters and it is rare and blessed to have both. We are eaters - not sleepers. My boys are great eaters. Tonight I found myself actually saying "Caleb, eat more chicken nuggets and french fries and I will give you more carrots." Carter actually likes salad and both of them gobble up broccoli - Caleb has been known to eat 3 helpings!! However when it comes time to sleep - forget about it. In fact right now I am listening to Carter scream, "Mommy" and he has been yelling for 30 minutes. He doesn't want to go to sleep. This may have something to do with the fact that he took a 2 hour nap, which he needed because he woke up at 5:30 am screaming, "Mommy!" See a pattern here? Mommy did not appreciate getting only 5.5 hours of sleep (I went to bed too late - I know). I really did not appreciate this as the night before last Caleb woke up at 12:45 and cried until 2:45. Once again - 5.5 hours of sleep. Mommy is not a nice mommy when she only has 5.5 hours of sleep - especially when children then don't take good naps therefore not allowing Mommy to take a nap!! At least today was a good nap day - Caleb - 2.5 hours(he woke up at 6:30am), Carter - 2 hours, Mommy - 2 hours!!!! I just wish they would sleep!!! Jen H.and I were joking that Satan is attacking us as we are trying to get up early, get our shower and have a quiet time. He is waking our children up and ruining our plan to worship and serve our families better. Satan - be gone!!!
I am praying for you Steph! There is nothing grumpier than a mommy going on NO sleep!!! Mine seem to have turned the corner...at least for now anyways...
