Hmmm
We are trying to work on Carter's self control. He is having issues controlling his anger and so I have been trying to teach him to pray when he gets angry.
He is not really in to it.
When I try and pray for him when he is angry he just looses it. "Don't pray! You can't say that! It's bad to talk to God!"
You could say we are having some anger issues.
So last night the boys were playing great on the couch with their cars while I cleaned up dinner. Then Caleb started crying, "Bruba bite me!"
I go in the living room and Carter is biting his own arm - a sure sign that he bit Caleb and is trying to distract me - weird kid.
So I send him to the couch in the kitchen for time out while I check on Caleb. Then I go in to talk to Carter. I ask him what made him bite Caleb and he tells me he was angry because Caleb wasn't playing the way he wanted him to. I started talking to him about using self control when suddenly he puts his hand over my mouth.
"Stop Mommy, stop. I need to pray."
I stifle a laugh and bow my head very seriously
"Heavenly Father, thank you for this good day. Please forgive me for biting Caleb and help me to not bite other people. Amen."
Now I want him to learn to pray and ask God to help him have self control and to take away the anger in his heart - before he acts out his anger.
But I think he totally just played me.
