"School" Day 3
Well - a week later here I am posting our 3rd day of "school". I'm a little late. Oh well, that's life. We've been spending a lot of time at the lake since that's the only way we can be outside in the 100+ heat index. So here is our Day 3.
Practicing scissor skills - cutting our verse into strips and taping the pieces together.
Of course little brother wants to cut as well. I never knew the skill of using scissors was so difficult! They both want to cut with their thumbs on the bottom and hold the paper at the bottom . Neither makes for easy cutting, but don't try telling them that!
Two hand cutting.
Our verse strip. Why oh why must little boys ALWAYS hold on to their "little built in handles" down there?
Writing our "Ls". I never analyzed how one writes but I'm realizing there is more to it than just making a mark. Carter wants to write without resting his hand on the paper which makes for sloppy writing due to lack of support. I'm not sure how to help him. I'm wondering if I should not worry about it and wait for him to work it out or if I'm having him try and write before he is ready.
So day 3. We never take more than about 10 minutes for all this. My goal is not to do "school" but just start introducing him to the concept. He is enjoying it and that is important to me as well.
