"School" Day 2

This is what we did on day 2 of our first week of "school" last week.  We reviewed our verse and ways to let our light shine and read the story again.  Then Carter did the "Getting Ready for L" sheet which helps him make the strokes needed for "L".  Since he really doesn't care for coloring or drawing (he's more the train/car/ride his bike kid), he struggles a little with fine motor control.  It's no big deal - he's just almost 5.  I did end up having him use a pencil grip the next day to help him put his fingers in the right spot.

Next Carter traced the big "L" on the verse sheet.  Love his tongue sticking out!!

I poured some flour on a cookie sheet for him to write an "L" with his finger.  He loved it - I decided next week to do something less messy - grits in a container works fine too.

Here is the little book that uses the sight word and the number and "L" words.  He loves it and "read" it several times to me and then to Caleb.  Love his cute little smile!

He is really enjoying all this "school" stuff and I'm enjoying spending some one on one time with just him.
