Mommy's Morning Off

This morning I left the boys at home with Sam and spent some wonderful time alone - shopping. It was so nice to just get out of the car and go in the store. I didn't have to unbuckle anybody or fight to put Carter in a cart or hurry to finish looking because somebody is crying. I just enjoyed leisurely shopping - I actually tried on clothes instead of just buying things and returning what didn't fit. I love my children - but there are some things that are so much more enjoyable without them. While I was gone, Sam took the boys down the path through the woods and they discovered a beach by the creek covered in rocks - Carter's own personal heaven! This evening we went back after dinner and it was so cute to watch Carter "plop rocks". He would pick up a big rock and "dip" it in the sand and then throw it in the creek. When Sam threw a large rock in and it made a big splash he cried out, "That was a huge splash!" I don't know where he picked up the "huge" but it was cute.

After naps we went to the mall so I could return something and get Carter some sunglasses. He is always putting mine on and then found some that were his when he was little - but he broke them. He picked some out at Chidren's Place and wore them throughout the mall. People couldn't help but smile as they passed us - how can he be so frustrating on minute and so darn cute the next. I guess all I can say is - he's two!!

Here is a picture of Caleb gagging while I am trying to feed him applesauce! What kid doesn't like applesauce? He makes himself gag whenever I give him something he doesn't like - carrots, applesauce, apricots. He used to do this with peas but now he loves peas! He is so Sam's child - give him veggies - not sweets. I have to hold him down to give him Tylenol or any sweet tasting medicine. Carter however asks for more!!
