What a beautiful day!
It was a beautiful Sunday today. This morning it was cute to watch Carter and Caleb playing together. They were crawling around together and laughing. Of course later we had our first - "Mommy! Caleb's getting my cars!"
We had church this morning and Carter enjoyed playing with his friend Sam. They are trouble when they get together! There is a collapsible wall between the infant nursery (where I was) and the toddler nursery (where Carter was). He had already stuck his fingers under the wall and said, "Hello Mommy!" earlier but just before church got out I noticed the wall beginning to move. When I looked at the end of the wall I saw a little arm sticking out where the collapsible wall meets the real wall. I went over there and looked through the crack where the arm was. There was Carter and Sam trying to squeeze through and push the wall. They thought it was too funny that I had caught them.
We had an outside day today. Carter played in his sand and water table while Caleb napped and I worked in the basement. Then we all played outside after Caleb woke up. Of course we had a couple of incidents - isn't that life with boys? Actually these weren't boy related. Carter was in the baby swing and when he decided to get out I was trying to help him out while holding Caleb. I barely got a hold of his arm when the swing dumped him out and he fell half on the patio and half on the ground hitting his head on the sand and water top. I quickly set Caleb on the ground and picked him up. He was very upset of course but wasn't really hurt. While I am comforting him Caleb starts gagging. Of course he has put something in his mouth. Quickly put Carter down and start digging in Caleb's mouth. He throws up all over my hand - throwing up the piece of mulch that he had shoved in his mouth! At this point I just sat on the ground and had to laugh. What a mommy moment!
We headed to the playground and then to the rock beach by the big creek to plop rocks. Carter found a big stick and put one end in the water and said, "I catch a fish." Then he pulled the stick out of the water and said, " Oh no, where'd my big fish go?" He has learned about fishig from watching "Little Bear". He spent the rest of the time trying different places on the beach to "catch a big fish".
Yesterday after nap we went with Megan and Jackson to the Big Shanty Festival. We walked around and looked at the booths and got a corn dog and lemonade. Then later Carter and I shared a chocolate sundae. We all wore our Samscreek Photography shirts to try and get some free advertising but noone asked about it. We still had a nice time - got several comments on Carter and his cool sunglasses. After he saw the playground he of course threw a fit to go play and at some point during his fit he must have taken them off and threw them on the ground somewhere. Of course since then he keeps asking for them - "Where my green glasses, Mommy?" Today when we got in the wagon to go to the playground he said, "I need my glasses - it's too bright." Of course I pulled a mommy - "If you hadn't thrown a fit you would still have your glasses." Sure mom - like he gets that. Here is a picture after we got back to the car.
