Happy to be a SAHM!
That's a Stay At Home Mom for those of you who don't know the lingo! We went to my old school today to visit with the teachers on their last day of school. I miss them very much but I certainly don't miss the job. Sure it was nice to get personal recognition, to see evidence of my hard work when the kids would do well on something. But I don't miss the headaches, the pain in the butt parents or kids. I have dirty diapers instead! It was nice to catch up with everybody and Carter had fun running around. Plus Brenda gave him some chocolate cake and introduced him to the water fountain - which he loved! Caleb got passed around and kissed on a lot - of course.
Speaking of "of course". That is Carter's current favorite phrase. Everything is answered by "of course". The other day I asked him if he was ready to eat lunch, "Of course!" Do you want to go downstairs? Of course! He is also really into calling Daddy "Sam". He goes around the house calling, "Sam, Sam, where are you?" He doesn't call me Stephanie though which is funny because I typically call Sam "Honey" but he calls me "Stephanie". You would think he would call me by my name and Sam "Honey"!
The other day we ran to the grocery store because we were out of orange juice and milk. So now every time I say we are going out to the store Carter asks, "We're almost out of orange juice Mommy?" He is really worried he won't have his orange juice in the morning!
